Do I Have Time?

Another Bi-annual Post?

Here's where I'm at now:

I recently released the Medicant Downline album "Test Subject" as a Physical CD and Digital Download through numerous places: CDbaby, CD Universe, FIXTStore, Amazon.com, iTunes, etc. The best place to go to get updated on that sorta thing is MDband.com. It's the only way to prevent me from shilling any further.

What else is new since the last post in February? Oh yes, baby on the way, due in December. This makes numero dos! So we've been making all the necessary preparations for that as of late. (well...not much, really just have to buy a new stroller)

Seriously though, I'm active as hell on Facebook for no reason. That's not true, there's always a reason. Attention, obviously. I crave it. Go figure? So much so that I've connected with over 350 people to date, all of whom I personally have known or have spoken to in the past. It's wild how many people out there we come across throughout our lives. It also never ceases to amaze me when someone I know knows someone else I know. Somehow it makes me feel more legitimate. Does that make sense? Then again, CT is such a small state. If you're not careful you end up bumping into a dozen friends at any given time or place.

That, and it's a small world after all.

Wii and Xbox 360 with Netflix take up much of my leisure time at home. I'll get into a game here or there. I've taken to watching a bunch of TV shows. Watched Lost until it ended. Fringe and V are now my new shows, along with Mythbusters and Pitchmen.

On that note, I'm off to twist a few knobs.

Whoa

Looks like I'm back into the habit of blogging again. The first sentence is my one piece of crucial evidence in this case.

I've been battling a lifelong struggle of trying to maintain good habits, or rather habits in general! I could never be a full time smoker for more than a month or so. One has to admire the willpower of the alcoholic. Knowing the consequences, the detriment this behavior causes to the human body over time, and yet not letting any of that nonsense stand in the way of your true desire.

I suppose now I'm in the habit of obsessively selling my junk on eBay and drinking cheap $0.60 energy drinks. It's my passion, for the moment. I've hit that wall that I assume many millionaires get, where you begin amassing enough money to be able to buy things for fun and recreation, though you've found that there's really nothing you absolutely need. The only difference in my case is that I don't have a million dollars, and still have that car and mortgage to pay off.

Recently it was decided that photography would be a new hobby of mine. I came to this decision unfortunately at the start of the winter season, making it rather difficult to actually go out and take pictures. When the springtime comes around, I assume I'll have to plan around making time to actually go out to places and start snapping away. At least that's IF I get the free time. (and I'm motivated enough to use that time in a constructive manner)

Facebook is one of those things that has stuck in the past year for me. Of course, why wouldn't it? Where else can I obsessively refresh pages to see if anyone is listening to my trivial life updates? Well, I suppose Myspace, if it were still 2007. I remember obsessing over Farkle, a game similar to Yatzee, in which you continually click virtual dice over and over in hopes of getting a score slightly higher than half of the people on your friends list. Remember that one week you received 12,000 points, leaving everyone in the dust? Remember every other week when you couldn't even make 10th place? You said "Fuck it! These people probably play obsessively so obviously, based on the odds, they're bound to get a high score eventually. I'm not playing this more than 5 hours a week!"

10 hours later you sit there staring at a score of 3000 hating yourself even more.

The next thing would be to start a farm in Farmville, or join someone's mafia in Mafia Wars. At first it was hard to say no to the requests. "I just added this guy as a friend that I barely knew in high school! So I obviously can't not join his team, or else he'll DEfriend me, and we can't have that!" As of this date my number of 'friends' has surpassed the number of 300. It's easier than it looks. You can basically add anyone you attended the same high school as, or are friends of a friends of a friends with, because, like you, EVERYONE wants the highest number of friends. In fact, welcome back to the High School Popularity Contest you never had a chance of winning, and yet you tried anyhow. Finally this is your opportunity, so make the best of it!

And remember not to say anything too divisively political or religious, because who the fuck has time to sit there arguing with someone who cares a little too much about something that doesn't really matter? You know they won't let you get off easily!

Never say something like "The joy of being a fetus is never knowing if/when the hook of the clothes hanger will come by and pierce your heart. I've yet to meet a pro-choice embryo."

At least not if you want to get away from your computer every now and then.

People Still Update Blogs?

As of late, my output has been exclusively provided in 140 character segments. This world is ever-changing, and I must change with it. Remember when we all thought we were cool because we knew HTML, or CSS? We used to decorate our Live Journals and Vampire Freaks pages up to impress newcomers, crossing our fingers and hoping they'd give us a 10 for a rating? Those were the good ole days, way back 6 years ago.

When we finally got Myspace, we said "Okay, who really needs all these other social networking sites anymore? This shall be the new standard, and nothing could ever get in the way of this."

Shortly after Rupert Murdock purchased it, we all did the same thing when Facebook became a news item. "Oh no, that's okay. I have Myspace, I don't need to go to Facebook. Everything is fine the way it is right now. Besides, I finally have my profile looking exactly the way I want!"

Shortly after, there appeared a new status update on Facebook. "Randy has finally made the leap to Facebook and still doesn't see what the big deal is." One week later, after 30-60 friend requests from people he used to go to High School with and haven't spoken to in 8 years years. "Hey! Long time no see! How goes life?"

Who knew a day later they'd never say another word again? Anything to make that accumulated number of friends go up, right? "I think I spoke to them once or twice in Study Hall, right?" *sends friend request* (It's worth a shot)

So now who needs anymore distractions? Facebook has it all. "Twitter? WTF is a Twitter? Sounds raunchy!" Again, 3 months later there's a status update on Twitter, "No one's following me right now so I should probably just get right down to the point. Well, I can't right now due to a 140 character limit." After that point, I guess we're all supposed to think of witty things to say.

My juice for writing updates has been almost completely spent on that sort of nonsense. So I close with my latest update:

"This is a milestone in history, where officially every electronic device built is required to have an mp3 playing capability."

Blogs Are So 2008

And I am Two Thousand Late!

Between AIM, Twitter, Myspace, Facebook, Forums, Mobile Texting, Pictures, Podcasts, Youtube Videos, Mp3s, Downloading, Uploading, Torrents, Video Games, and watching content taped off of my DVR, how the hell am I supposed to also find time to Blog? Skyping is way out the picture now. I believe I'm suffering from sensory overload. There is not enough time to do everything I want to do. How is it possible with a full time job!?

My son is Starfy.

ConnectiCon is arriving very soon. This is one thing I very much look forward to. Video Games, DVD screenings, Manga, etc. How can I resist? This time around I won't be performing there, so I'll get to take advantage of gawking at overweight girls dressed in skimpy outfits, eating like a madman, and actually attending events without screaming, uncooperative kid. It'll be like taking a Klonopin, except with hallucinations!

I also invented a flying toilet. This is the prototype design.

Apparently roving gangs of Segue riders plague the bad streets of Boston. This I learned last month.

And even though it's 2009, and I'm 26 years old, Carousels are still just as uneventful as they ever were!

Anew Entry

I've been awful quiet these days in the Blog-o-sphere, and here's the main reason: I have nothing to say. Seriously, nothing.

Okay maybe now I have something to say.

Nope, still don't.

A few things to note down. Acer makes a crazy good and affordable Netbook and can be bought at Target for roughly $300.00. I've recently purchased one of these and am very impressed. It's seriously better than my desktop that my job forces me to deal with.

On vacation last week, we watched a Netflix movie streaming from a luxurious Knights Inn. I say "luxurious" because there was twice as much paneling than the normal motel, and we had a perfect view of a chicken coup outside of our window. I'm telling you, this is seriously the place to stay if you really don't like spending money, however enjoy a shower whose water pressure you could compare to a power washer. Needless to say that the layer of weather-proofing stain has now been completely removed from my body.

For Mother's Day, I bought Nina a puppy. We named the pug Hachi to show off how Otaku we both are. I'm just happy her hairs aren't making my allergies go nutty, and that if she's being really bad I could easily punt this thing a good 50-60 yards into the woods across the street. I'm not saying I'd ever write on here about doing that, because that would be cruel. No one needs to read that.

My wife looks beautiful in a bathing suit, but we knew that already. Recently we took a trip to Burr Pond, a beach where you get all the joys of a cool ocean breeze and yet none of the disgusting smell of rotting jellyfish, crayfish, and salt water from the polluted Long Island Sound. Seth enjoyed the hell out of walking up to complete stranger children and trying to play with them. He's going to grow up to be that creepy kid that comes around and invites himself to parties where no one actually wants him around.

Finally, how do you like them apples? I bought a fedora, and I wear it. I'm bringing the depression-era look back in a whole new way. Now, it's your duty to go out there and buy the hell out of these things so I don't look like the only jerk wearing mine in crowds. There's only so many toothless rednecks I can handle laughing at me and pointing, as if I'M the fuck-face!

It was fun however to find a box of coat-hangers in Ithaca labeled "FREE" and carry it through the market place. I told on-lookers that I'm handing out cheap and affordable abortions. (^_^)

For all sizes!!

And this is what I get for feeding my son Soy Milk. He's the one on the left, though I suppose in this picture it doesn't make a difference which one he is.
